Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit review (2026)

The Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit costs $99 a month per domain and tracks 25 prompts. It is a separate subscription from the main Semrush plans, and each extra user needs their own $99 licence. It makes most sense for a team that already works in Semrush and wants AI data beside its search research.

What the toolkit does

The toolkit has four parts. Visibility Overview and Competitor Research read a database of AI prompts and show which brands and domains appear. Prompt Research suggests prompts by topic. Brand Performance reports how AI engines describe a domain. Prompt Tracking runs your own prompts daily. A Site Audit module adds AI search checks that flag possible crawler blockers on up to 100 pages.

Semrush says its prompt responses come from real requests rather than model APIs. It also says topic volume is an estimate built from third-party data and machine learning, that brand extraction is still being improved, and that the metrics are directional signals rather than exact visibility numbers.

Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit pricing in 2026

The toolkit page shows $99 a month per domain with annual billing selected. The monthly-billing price is not in the page text, and the knowledge base says $99 a month. It is a separate subscription. On an annual Semrush subscription it is billed as a prorated one-time amount and renews with the annual term.

Included in the $99:

  • 1 project and 1 domain for Brand Performance
  • 25 prompts for Prompt Tracking
  • 300 daily queries in AI Analysis reports and 1,000 in Prompt Research
  • 10 CSV exports a day, up to 1,000 rows each

Extras:

Add-onPrice
Additional domain or location for Brand Performance$99 a month each
50 more Prompt Tracking prompts$60 a month
Each additional user, who needs their own licence$99 a month

Semrush One bundles the toolkit with its search products. SEO is $139 a month ($117.33 billed annually). Starter is $199 ($165.17) with 5 websites, 50 prompts tracked daily, 1 domain for AI brand performance and MCP access. Pro+ is $299 ($248.17) with 100 prompts a day. Advanced is custom: the pricing page says unlimited daily prompts, while the knowledge base says 200.

Enterprise is custom and adds large-scale prompt tracking, multi-brand support, forecasting, an API, SSO and audit logs.

Engines, countries and refresh

Engine coverage depends on the report. The prompt database reports cover ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode. Brand Performance covers Google AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini. Semrush's two knowledge base pages list slightly different engines for Prompt Tracking.

Prompt Tracking covers more than 220 countries and territories and refreshes daily. Brand Performance is tied to one location and language and refreshes weekly. The prompt database refresh is described as daily on a rolling basis on one page and monthly on another.

What the toolkit does well

The prompt database is the main draw. You can look at AI answers for any domain without setting up your own prompts first, which helps with category research and with seeing which rivals appear. Prompt Tracking covers a wide set of countries at the entry price.

For a team already in Semrush, the data sits beside keyword and site audit work, and the AI search checks in Site Audit point at pages that may block AI crawlers. Semrush also states the limits of its data plainly in its knowledge base, which makes the numbers easier to interpret.

Where the toolkit falls short

Twenty-five prompts is a small panel. More prompts cost $60 for each block of 50.

Seats cost as much as the product. Each extra user needs a $99 licence, and limits cannot be shared across users. Brand Performance campaigns are shared with teammates who hold a licence, while other reports are not.

One domain per licence. A second domain or location is another $99 a month.

Engines vary by report. A prompt you track may not appear in every report, and Perplexity appears in Brand Performance only on the knowledge base page we checked.

Trial wording conflicts. The toolkit knowledge base says there is no free trial, while the pricing footers offer a seven-day trial. Confirm what you are getting before you enter a card.

It is not crawler analytics. The Site Audit check flags possible blockers on up to 100 pages. It does not show which bots visited.

Who the toolkit fits

The toolkit fits an SEO team that already pays for Semrush and wants AI visibility and prompt research next to keyword work, for one or two domains and a few users. It also fits an enterprise buyer who needs forecasting, SSO and an API through the custom plan.

It fits less well a small business that wants several people on the data, or a team tracking many prompts across several domains, since each of those adds a $99 or $60 line.

Other tools to weigh against the toolkit

Otterly.AI starts at $29 a month for 15 prompts with unlimited team members. Read the Otterly review.

Peec AI starts at $95 a month for 50 prompts and unlimited users. Read the Peec AI review.

Ahrefs Brand Radar adds AI visibility to the Ahrefs suite. Read the Ahrefs Brand Radar review.

SearchSeal. SearchSeal costs $79 a month for 60 questions on Starter, $179 for 150 on Pro and $399 for 400 on Max, with unlimited brands sharing one question pool. It asks every question each day on AI Overview, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, and saves each answer with its mentions and returned source links. Seats are one on Starter and unlimited on Pro and Max. SearchSeal does not track crawler traffic or human visits from AI tools, and a returned source link is not proof the answer used that page. Is the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit worth it?

It is worth it when you already use Semrush and the second product shares your reporting. Price the real setup first: one licence per user, one domain per licence and a block of prompts if 25 is too few. Three users on one domain already cost $297 a month in licences, and every 50 prompts beyond the first 25 add $60.

For a pure tracking job without the suite, a tool priced per prompt will usually cost less.
