How to fix a page that AI tools ignore
Check if AI tools overlook your page, review its structure and crawler rules, then fix the gaps and compare saved answers before and after the changes.

How do you fix a page that AI tools ignore?
Start with a buyer question where AI answers name rivals and leave you out. Review the saved answers and returned source links, then check your page’s readiness and crawler rules. Apply the highest-ranked fixes and add missing information the question asks for. Compare answers afterward. A fix gives the page a better chance, without a promise of citation.
Six steps to check and improve your page
- Pick a question rivals win. Open Rivals and choose a question from Questions rivals win, where a rival is named and your brand is absent. Use that question to focus the page review.
- Read the saved answers. Open the question’s saved answers and inspect their source links for pages to compare with yours. A returned link alone does not prove the answer used or cited that page.
- Run the AI readiness check. Enter your page address to check AI crawler rules, schema markup, page structure, title and description, social card and llms.txt, with fixes ranked High, Medium or Low and code to copy. The structure check passes with exactly one H1, at least 3 headings and at least 150 words readable without JavaScript.
- Check the page’s crawler rules. Use the robots.txt AI crawler checker with your domain and the page path, then inspect the matching rules. The checker cannot see a CDN firewall that blocks crawlers.
- Apply the highest-ranked fixes. Work through the highest-ranked findings and add information the buyer question asks for that your page lacks. Keep the changes tied to the question you selected.
- Mark the fix Done. In Actions, mark the fix Done to snapshot the 14 days before; SearchSeal takes the after snapshot 14 days later. Check whether both windows meet the minimum sample before reading the comparison, and remember that other changes can affect the numbers.
Work through a missing pricing page
In this made-up example, northwind.example/pricing never appears in the saved answers to “How much does scheduling software cost?” Rivals are named. Open those answers and review the returned source links alongside the page, while keeping the buyer’s question in view.
Enter the page address in the AI readiness check. Read the AI crawler findings for rules that need attention. Review schema markup and page structure, then inspect the title and description. The social card and llms.txt findings belong in the same review, with the report’s priority attached to each fix.
Treat these as separate checks. A structure pass answers the tool’s structure requirements; it does not tell you whether the page answers the pricing question. Read the page itself to find what the buyer asked that it leaves unanswered.
Use the robots.txt AI crawler checker with the pricing path to inspect the matching rules. Apply the highest-ranked fixes from the readiness report and add the missing pricing information. Then mark the corresponding fix Done in Actions so SearchSeal can compare saved answers around the change.
Understand what the checks can show
The readiness score describes the checks the tool runs. A high score does not mean an AI tool will recommend your brand or cite the page. Your changes give it a better chance, and answers can still vary between runs.
The robots.txt checker returns allow, block or not specified with the matching line. Its result cannot tell you whether a CDN firewall blocks the crawler. Keep that limit in mind when a rule appears to allow access.
Returned source links also have limits. They show which links came back with an answer, without proving that the answer used those pages. Before and after results show what changed in the saved answers; they cannot prove that your edit caused the change.
Use SearchSeal to follow the change
SearchSeal checks the questions you choose every day and saves dated answers. You can see whether your brand is named, which rivals appear and which source links came back. Its ranked page fixes connect a proposed change to the page, question and supporting evidence.
Start your page review with the free checks, then use Actions to record completion. Each before and after window needs at least 10 answers from at least 3 questions, or at least 20 answers from fewer questions. Otherwise, the comparison says there is not enough data.
Read the comparison with its note that other changes can affect the numbers. SearchSeal reports how often your brand appears over time because answers vary between runs.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account for the free checks?
The AI readiness check and robots.txt AI crawler checker need no signup. Enter a page address for the readiness check, or a domain and optional path for the robots.txt checker.
Should I start by adding llms.txt?
Follow the ranked findings for your page. Few AI tools read llms.txt today, so it is a low-impact fix that takes minutes.
What if the comparison says not enough data?
At least one window lacks the required answer sample. You cannot use that comparison to assess the change yet.
