Questions your customers might ask
Choose questions that describe the work you want customers to find you for and the places you serve. Examples to adapt include “emergency plumber in [city]”, “how much does it cost to rewire a house”, “reliable electrician near [area]” and “roof repair company in [city] with warranty”.
These are suggested questions you can edit during setup. SearchSeal then checks the questions you choose.
What we check each day
Every paid plan checks every chosen question daily on Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. SearchSeal saves each answer with its date and shows whether your business appears, which rivals appear and which source links came back.
A position appears only when the answer contains a numbered or ranked list. You can open the full saved answer to read the wording around a mention and use rival tracking to find questions where a rival appears and you do not.
Google AI Overviews checks use the question's country and language. A city in the wording does not make the check city-targeted. When Google shows no AI overview that day, no answer is saved.
Pages and fixes to work on
Review one page per service and service area, a prices or quote page, and a contact page that states where you work. On your own site, fixes can include “Improve a page”, “Write a page” or “Correct a fact”, depending on the evidence.
Local directories and review sites sit elsewhere. A “Get listed” fix carries the Elsewhere tag, while changes to your pages carry Your site.
The fix queue ranks actions and gives each one supporting evidence and a ready-to-use draft. You can also copy or download its brief before making the change.
What stays outside SearchSeal
You remain responsible for directory listings, reviews and ads. SearchSeal does not manage them, and it does not measure calls or booked jobs.
Answers vary between runs, so we report how often your business appears over time. Comparing answers before and after a fix does not prove that the fix caused a change. No page edit guarantees an AI recommendation or citation.
Several locations and shared reporting
Every plan includes unlimited brands, with questions pooled across them. You can choose location-specific question wording for the businesses you track. Pro and Max include unlimited team members.
Each brand gets a Monday email with visibility, top actions and changes, plus a read-only share link for an owner, client or management company. Agencies can use that link to share reporting with clients. See pricing for plan details.
FAQ
Does a source link prove an answer cited our page?
A saved source link shows that the link came back with the answer. It does not prove that the answer used or cited that page.
When can we compare answers after a fix?
Marking a fix Done snapshots the previous 14 days, and SearchSeal takes the after snapshot 14 days later. Each window needs at least 10 answers from at least 3 questions, or at least 20 answers from fewer questions; otherwise it says not enough data.
Can we check our site before creating an account?
The free site check at /check needs no account. Enter a domain to get the brand, its category and up to 4 suggested rivals from public information; it does not measure AI answers or give a score.
