How can a hotel track AI answers with SearchSeal?

Guests now ask ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity where to stay, and in our study of 576 AI hotel answers each assistant read different sources, sent guests to different places and changed its shortlist when asked again. This post explains how a hotel can monitor all of that with SearchSeal.

Guests now ask ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity where to stay, and in our study of 576 AI hotel answers each assistant read different sources, sent guests to different places and changed its shortlist when asked again. This post explains how a hotel can monitor all of that with SearchSeal.

1. Start with the questions your guests ask

When you add your hotel, SearchSeal writes a starting set of guest questions from your website and your city or area, such as "boutique hotel near [landmark]", "family friendly hotel in [area]" or "where to stay in [city] for a business trip". Connecting Google Search Console also lets it use searches that already bring guests to your site.

You can revise the list and add questions in any language your guests use. Many of the best questions show no volume in keyword tools, so your reservations team is often a better source than any tool (see The hotel questions keyword tools can't see).

2. See how often AI recommends you

Every day SearchSeal asks each question to ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, and saves every answer. Copilot, Google AI Mode, DeepSeek and others are available as add-ons.

AI answers vary between runs, so checking once whether you appear today tells you little. The Visibility view shows how often you appear over time instead, as the share of answers that name your hotel for each assistant and each question.

3. See which hotels win instead of you

The Rivals view shows the hotels that appear in answers where you don't, with a column for each assistant and a list of the questions each one wins. You'll see here if the same three hotels keep winning your "romantic weekend" questions.

4. See which sources the answers used

SearchSeal stores each answer's exact text alongside the source links returned with it, grouped by type. For hotels these are usually booking sites, travel guides, review sites and hotel websites.

This is often the product's most useful part: a guide like Time Out or a "best boutique hotels" article repeatedly appearing in answers about your area without naming you gives you a concrete starting point.

5. Get a short list of fixes

The Actions page turns the last 30 days of answers into a ranked list of tasks, and four kinds come up most often for hotels.

  1. Get listed, when a source that keeps showing up in answers doesn't mention you. The task lists the page.
  2. Correct a fact, when an answer gets your hotel wrong, for example the wrong area or a restaurant that has closed. You can store the correct facts for SearchSeal to check answers against.
  3. Improve or write a page, when your own site doesn't answer a question guests ask, such as whether the old town is walkable or whether you have family rooms.
  4. Fix your site, when it blocks an AI search crawler, a page is broken or hidden from search, or a page is missing structured data. SearchSeal gives you a snippet to paste.

After you mark a task done, SearchSeal compares answers from before and after.

6. Watch the tone

Each answer that names you gets a tone label (positive, neutral, mixed or negative) with a quote, so you can see whether an assistant keeps repeating an old complaint.

7. Get one email a week

Every Monday each hotel gets a short report on where it stands, its top three tasks and what changed, with a read-only share link for sending the summary to an owner or a management company.

What SearchSeal doesn't do for hotels

SearchSeal doesn't manage your booking-site listings, your reviews or your Google Business Profile. It shows when those pages appear in AI answers; you edit them in their own tools. Its page checks look at your own website only, and its share of answers is not a measure of market share or bookings.

For groups and agencies

Every plan allows unlimited brands with shared questions, so a hotel group or hotel marketing agency can track several properties in one account. Pro and Max include unlimited team seats.
